Thank you so much to Valerie Tucker, who has recently retired from Girlguiding, having volunteered locally for more than 50 years.
Valerie’s first involvement with Girlguiding was as a leader of 5th Bookham Brownies in 1972. She was also unit leader for 1st Effingham Brownies, and more recently a unit helper and treasurer for 1st Effingham Rainbows.
Valerie served as District Commissioner for Bookham and Effingham and as both district and division secretary. Most notably, Valerie managed the Division Shop for an incredible 21 years, until January 2026. She also received the County Good Service award in 2016.
Valerie’s contribution to Girlguiding has been absolutely invaluable and we are so grateful! We were delighted to present her recently with a bunch of flowers and a special card signed by unit leaders from across Leatherhead Division.
Thank you Valerie and enjoy your retirement!
